CHP Dublin Senior Volunteers Bring Home Awards
CHP Dublin Senior Volunteers were awarded statewide awards at annual LEVOC Conference.
DUBLIN, CA- On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Dublin Area attended the 20th Annual Law Enforcement Volunteer of California (LEVOC) Conference in Lodi, CA. LEVOC is a non-profit organization comprised of Law Enforcement agencies dedicated to promoting Volunteers in Law Enforcement. The annual LEVOC conference features professional training and provides networking opportunities for volunteers and volunteer coordinators.
The Dublin Area CHP Senior Volunteer Program was awarded with two prestigious awards from this conference. Senior Volunteer President Peter Lee was selected as the law enforcement "Volunteer of the Year" and the entire Dublin Area CHP Senior Volunteer team was selected as the law enforcement "Volunteer Team of the Year."

Dublin CHP Commander, Captain Christopher Sherry said, “The CHP’s mission is to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security to the public. In order to accomplish this level of service, we utilize these outstanding volunteers in many ways. Senior volunteer efforts free up both uniformed and non-uniformed members of the Department to concentrate on their core duties.”

Senior Volunteer President Peter Lee, a retired Director of Global Call Centers for ATT has volunteered with the CHP since 2017. With over 3,000 field and administrative hours contributed during the first half of 2019, this team of 22 volunteers staffed an equivalent of three full-time employees daily. This has allowed officers to focus on their primary enforcement duties and office staff to remain current with administrative tasks. Captain Sherry further related, “I am excited to work with this diverse group of caring citizens to help the Department save lives and improve departmental efficiency. I am very proud of them.”
