President Biden has ordered that all flags are to fly at half-staff in honor of General Colin Powell, who passed away this morning from complications due to COVID-19.  He was also being treated for multiple myeloma.

General Powell was a four-star general who served as the 65th United States Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005.  He had previously served as the 16th United States National Security Advisor from 1987 to 1989, and as the 12th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1989 to 1993.  

All flags will remain at half-staff through sunset on Friday, October 22.
