Community Invited To IKEA Open House Meeting
The community is invited to the meeting to see the latest changes to its development proposal in Dublin.

DUBLIN, CA — IKEA will be hosting a community open house in April. The company said the community is invited to the meeting to see the latest changes to its development proposal in Dublin.
"Proposed for the vacant 27 acres at the northwest corner of I-580 and Hacienda Drive, the IKEA project has completely transformed over the past 18 months in response to significant community input," the company said in a statement. "Recently rebranded as The Glen, the project will be the first, retail-only experience of new shops and restaurants being fully integrated with a modern IKEA store. It will be a community gathering destination that introduces a European-style pedestrian plaza that connects visitors to a collection of indoor/outdoor restaurants, specialized retailers, and family-oriented public amenities that benefit from having an IKEA as the anchor store."
IKEA says the new proposal will create 1,142 jobs and almost 10 percent increase in Dublin’s sale tax revenue, $350,000 in annual property tax revenue to the Dublin Unified School District and $14 million in one-time development impact fees.
