Coronavirus: Dublin Postpones 'State Of City' Address & Luncheon
"It does not seem prudent to gather when local health officials are recommending that non-essential events are cancelled or postponed."
DUBLIN, CA — Dublin's State of the City Address Luncheon with Mayor David Haubert was rescheduled from April 1 to June 18, due to coronavirus concerns, according to officials.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Dublin City Manager Linda Smith made the decision based on Alameda County Public Health Department's Tuesday advisory stating that organizers should "cancel non-essential mass gatherings and large community events where large numbers of people are within arm's length of one another."
“At this time, it does not seem prudent to gather when local health officials are recommending that non-essential events are cancelled or postponed”, said Danita Romero, Dublin Chamber of Commerce chair. “The chamber wants to be a responsible corporate citizen in the community.”

“It is estimated that the COVID-19 virus precautions will no longer be necessary as warmer weather comes to the Tri-Valley,” said Dublin Chamber President and CEO Inge Houston.
