Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed On I-580

The CHP said the 25-year-old man was reportedly splitting lanes at 30 to 40 miles per hour when a driver changed lanes ahead of him.

DUBLIN, CA — A motorcyclist who died Friday afternoon after being thrown from his bike and struck by a car has been identified as an Oakdale resident. An official with the Alameda County Coroner’s Office said 25-year-old Cody Krimm was killed on Interstate 580 in Dublin around 3:50 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol said Krimm was reportedly splitting lanes between the first and second lane at 30 to 40 miles per hour when a driver in a Porsche changed lanes ahead of him. Krimm "locked up the brakes" before losing control of the bike and sideswiping the Porsche, CHP said.

The action forced the Krimm to be thrown from the bike before being hit by a driver in a Honda Accord. Krimm was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
