County Supe Pledges $5K To Replace Damaged DHS Softball Equipment
The team's coach said burglars stole equipment from the team's storage shed and vandalized their golf cart.

DUBLIN, CA -- Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty has pledged $5,000 to help replace some of the Dublin High School softball team’s equipment, which was targeted during a vandalism and burglary last month.
On March 31, a varsity player discovered the the team's storage shed wide open. Nearby, the team golf cart was found on its side, with four punctured wheels and seat detached, leaving it damaged.
The suspects stole the team’s new $160 audio speaker, along with other equipment. The damages are not minor to the Lady Gaels, who worked hard to fundraise for this season. It took two years to raise the money to pay for the golf cart, according to Coach Sarah Machado.

"The girls worked very hard to fundraise, and that is the most frustrating part," Machado explained.
The team has raised some money, but with a new Junior Varsity team added to the program this season, funds have been stretched far. Machado said that the Lady Gaels were looking forward to new uniforms, which might not be a possibility anymore.
