'Don't Change Dublin School Boundaries': Letter To Editor

Parents have started a petition opposed to changing the boundaries for Frederiksen Elementary.

Dear Dublin Patch Editor:

We are group of residents near the East Dublin BART station. We have suffered for many years since our home school (Frederiksen Elementary) is more than 2.5 miles away. Parents have to drive West in the mornings in heavy traffic to get to this school. It is very tough on small children who are only 5-7 years old and many of the mothers who have infants.

To make matters worse - school board have announced a plan to move us to Murray Elementary which is even far at 4.0 miles. We should be technically assigned James Dougherty - it is the school which is only 0.9 miles away from us. But we are only asking to retain Frederiksen as the home school.
