Dr. Dyrell Foster Named President of Las Positas College
Foster's term as president of the Livermore campus begins February 10, 2020.

DUBLIN, CA — The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District announced Wednesday that Dyrell Foster, Ed.D., was selected for the position of president of Las Positas College in Livermore.
Foster was selected from a large, highly competitive, and outstanding group of candidates from throughout the region, state and nation, the district said. His term as president will begin February 10, 2020.
"Dr. Foster is a recognized leader in the California community colleges. His experience and knowledge in student and academic services will be an asset to Las Positas College," said interim chancellor, Ronald P. Gerhard. "He is a highly respected administrator and is on the front lines of new initiatives and issues facing our students such as food and housing insecurity. He brings to the position a passion for teaching, learning and his focus has always been student success. I look forward to having him on our team."

"I am honored to be selected as the next president of Las Positas College," Foster said. "LPC is an outstanding institution that is student centered, focused on academic excellence and student success. I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, students and community partners within our college service area and throughout our district to continue to support and provide educational and workforce opportunities that change lives and meet the needs of our Tri-Valley region."
Foster currently serves as the vice president of student services at Moreno Valley College. Before his time in Moreno Valley, Foster served as an administrator at Rio Hondo College, Mt. San Antonio College, Evergreen Valley College, and San Jose State University.

Foster earned a doctor of education degree from the University of Southern California; a master of science degree in counseling from California State University, Long Beach; and a bachelor of science degree in applied behavioral science from University of California, Davis.
