DSRSD Director Elected to Serve on Board of Calif. Association of Sanitation Agencies

Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold has served on the Dublin San Ramon Services District Board of Directors for 15 years.

At the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) annual conference in mid-August, Dublin San Ramon Services Director Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold was elected to serve a three-year term on the CASA Board of Directors and appointed to the CASA Education Foundation board.

Vonheeder-Leopold has served on the Dublin San Ramon Services District Board of Directors for 15 years and during that time she has been an active member of CASA. She brings decades of public service and experience to the CASA board. She is also an Alternate Special District Representative to the Alameda County Local Agency Formation Commission.

In 1977, while raising four children, Vonheeder-Leopold became active in local government, Scouting, and youth sports. She worked on the campaigns to incorporate Dublin and San Ramon as cities. Then she served on the first Dublin Planning Commission, which was tasked with writing the city’s first General Plan, and she became a member of the Dublin City Council just in time to approve the plan. A lifetime resident of Alameda County and a resident of Dublin since 1971, she served as the City of Dublin’s Vice Mayor for two terms. She also has served on the East Bay Division of the League of California Cities, the Livermore Amador Valley Water Management Agency Board of Directors, the Tri-Valley Waste Authority Board of Directors, and Tri-Valley Transportation.

The CASA Education Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established to attract new professionals into the industry. To that end, the CASA Education Foundation offers scholarships to California residents pursuing higher education in engineering, environmental science, public administration, or other related fields. The CASA Education Foundation targets undergraduates who show an interest in serving the wastewater industry.
