Dublin Boulevard To Close For Upcoming Iron Horse Trail Bridge Overcrossing Installation
A portion of Dublin Boulevard will close in both directions over two September weekends.

DUBLIN, CA — The upcoming installation of the Iron Horse Trail Bridge Overcrossing will require a full closure of Dublin Boulevard from Dougherty Road to Hacienda Drive beginning Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 p.m., through Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 11:00 p.m. An additional full closure will be required from Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 p.m., to Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 7:00 a.m., to pour the concrete walkway on the bridge. Detour signs will direct traffic south to Pleasanton. Local vehicular and pedestrian access will be allowed to travel up to the road limits of Scarlett Drive and Sterling Street.

The new arch truss bridge will free span approximately 230 feet over Dublin Boulevard, providing a safer and quicker crossing for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling along the Iron Horse Regional Trail. Construction began with foundation piles, followed by concrete bents and elevated walkways. The final stage of the project requires lifting and putting the prefabricated bridge into place.

The City of Dublin has contracted with Goodfellow Bros. Sequoia A JV, for the construction of the Iron Horse Trail Bridge. The estimated project cost is fourteen million dollars, and is supported by funds from Alameda County Measure BB, BART Measure RR, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Transportation Fund for Clean Air.
