DUBLIN, CA — Two new neighborhood parks are moving forward in Dublin after a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday at Poppy Meadow Park in the Francis Ranch development.

Poppy Meadow Park will have a nature-inspired setting with open green space, a dog park, a poppy-themed play area and spaces for relaxation and connection, according to the city. Poppy Meadow Park is in the northern part of the community near the Orchid and Azure neighborhoods, and will also include a play area, central green, outdoor fitness equipment, a connection to the regional trail, and BBQ and picnic areas.

The city is also planning to build Wild Wind Park, south of Poppy Meadow between the Jasmine and Primrose neighborhoods. Wild Wind Park will include a basketball court, pickle ball and tennis courts, bocce courts, a large open lawn, a children's play area, a BBQ area and walkways and trails.

Both parks are about 5.5 acres, and the community helped to name and design them. A commission recommended their favorite names, and the City Council voted on them.
