Dublin Cigarette Store Robbers Charged With 50 Felonies: Report

The group accused of robbing Discount Cigarettes in Dublin allegedly stole over $650,000 worth of merchandise across California.

DUBLIN, CA — Three suspects are facing 50 felony charges and 10 misdemeanor charges related to 25 different robberies, including one in Dublin, according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta. The crime ring stole over $650,000 worth of goods in Alameda, Contra Costa, and other counties around California, Bonta said at a news conference.

The suspects, whose names were not released, allegedly robbed a Discount Cigarettes store in Dublin Oct. 18, according to a Bay City News report. The group is also accused of stealing more than $246,000 of merchandise from a Walnut Creek store on Oct. 3. In two instances, the suspects are accused of ramming their car into law enforcement, and allegedly injuring one officer.

“These weren't one-off smash-and-grabs at your local big box store. We're talking about a series of coordinated, organized crimes that took place over the course of two months," Bonta said at the conference.
