Dublin City Council member confirms plans to divert measure H funds from second high school to new elementary school (E6)
Dublin City Council to divert measure H funds from second high school to new elementary school (E6)

As confirmed by Dublin City Council Member Abe Gupta in an email to a concerned DUSD parent (email attached to this article), the Dublin City Council plans to divert funds from Measure H that were intended / approved on the basis to help buy land and develop a second high school in Dublin Ca. Instead it seems the Dublin City Council is deciding whether these funds should be be used to build a new elementary school known as E6 at Dublin Cross Roads (formerly Camp Parks). The parent's concern in the email to the city council member stems from the idea that the Dublin City Council may decide to use money from Measure H to build an elementary school for students and residents who don't yet live in Dublin, before addressing a community held belief there is a need to build a second high school in Dublin for existing students who already live in the city.
As can be seen in the email attached to this article, it begins with a concerned parent reaching out to the city council member to express concern over the rumors the parent had heard, and asks for his confirmation if the potential plan to divert funds is truly something being considered by the City Council.
In his response, not only does the city council member confirm that the plan to divert funds is real, but he also goes on to indicate that he himself did not support measure H out of concern the funds would be misused. He also informs the parent that the other members of the city council are likely to vote in favor of the measure to divert funds, and encourages the parent to attend the upcoming city council meeting on June 6th to voice opposition to the plan.
