Josey was first elected to the Council in 2018 and is running for a second four-year term.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin City Councilmember Jean Josey will seek re-election in the November 2022 election, her campaign announced Friday. Josey joins Lynna Lan Tien Nguyen Do and Kashef Qaadri in seeking two open at-large council seats. She is the only incumbent running for the council.
Mayor Melissa Hernandez is running unopposed for re-election.
Josey, who also works as the tutoring center coordinator at Dublin High School, was first elected to the Dublin City Council in 2018 after nearly two decades of community activism. She has served on a number of regional councils, including:

Moving forward, Josey advocates “controlled growth” that doesn’t “further overwhelm our strained infrastructure and bursting-at-the-seams schools”; expanding mental health and crime prevention programs; improving the relationship between the city council and the school board; creating a more “diverse, inclusive” Dublin with a more civil discourse, and more. “I am running for re-election because I strongly believe in the course that we set for our City
during my first term and I want to continue that work on behalf of our residents and businesses,” Josey said in a statement. “People want to live in Dublin, work in Dublin, send their children to our schools. They want to access our amazing parks and services and our retail and restaurants. None of this is an accident. It is a result of the hard work of our local elected leaders and City staff. I believe I have demonstrated the experience and leadership essential to keeping our city on a trajectory that will allow our residents and businesses to thrive for many years to come.”
Josey has been endorsed by many local leaders in the current and past election, including Rep. Eric Swalwell, Sen. Steve Glazer, Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown, and Livermore Vice Mayor Gina Bonano.
