Dublin High AP Artwork: Dublin Students Have Talent

DUBLIN, CA — What’s inside the minds of Dublin High School seniors? Dublin High School AP Art teacher Noel Sollom asked his incoming class of AP seniors to create artwork that expressed their passions, and he received a breathtaking range of answers. Most express a moody abstraction, centering on foreboding buildings, dark rooms, and angry beasts, to name just a few.

“Isolation in both positive and negative ways is a theme I’ve seen come forward,” Sollom told Patch when asked if he’s noticed any broad shifts in student art since the start of the pandemic. “I’ve also noticed a lot of student work that feels like they’ve had the time to explore, to dive deeper into things.”

The work of 55 students was exhibited this month at the year’s AP Art Show. There will be another one in the spring, and possibly in the winter.
