Dublin Library Announces Teen Art Contest Winners
Winners have been announced for the Teen Art Contest organized by Dublin Library

Dublin Library hosted the Teen Art Contest and entries were invited from high school students, including 9th - 12th graders being homeschooled, living in the Tri-Valley area.
There were three categories for artwork submissions: 1. fine art, 2. photography and 3. graphic design/digital art. A community vote was held and the winners in each category were awarded cash prizes provided by the Friends of the Dublin Library.
Best in Show was awarded to Courtney for her piece, Shiloh (featured image - blue painting with the silhouettes).

Winner of the Fine Art category was Susanna for her piece, Splash, (a colored pencil piece depicting water splashing out of a glass).

Winner of the Photography category was awarded to Ekansh for his piece, A Window on the Hill (the photo within a photo). Ekansh's image was previously featured as Patch Photo of the Week.

Honorable Mentions were awarded to Aarthi for Portrait of an Old Man, and to June, for Studying.

"Thank you to all of our teen artists who participated," said Mary Ayers-Hughes, Teen Librarian, "The artwork was lovely, and was a wonderful display at the library".
Congratulations to all the winners in the Teen Art Contest.
A different art competition for young artists held its judging phase over the weekend. The Congressional Art Competition is also for high school students but entries are nationwide. The Winners of the Congressional Art Competition will be announced this weekend.
Art lovers are in for another treat at the inaugural TEDx event for Dublin on May 6 which will have artwork by professional local artists on display.
