Dublin Lions St. Patrick's Day Parade in Photos
Locals enjoyed the luck of the Irish when the Ireland-esque weather held off long enough for the parade to make its way through the city.
DUBLIN, CA: The threat of rain did not deter residents from all over the East Bay from attending the annual Dublin Lions St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday morning. Under gloomy skies, thousands looked on as local dignitaries, schools and businesses participated in the popular parade.
"The parade was a great time," Dublin Mayor David Haubert said. "We were blessed with good weather and a large turnout. Special thanks to the Dublin Lions Club, city staff and all of the volunteers who helped make it a success."
The party started on Friday night with the Dublin Sister Cities Association's annual Green and White Gala. Guests and dignitaries from Bray, Ireland, visiting the Tri-Valley for the weekend’s events, enjoyed dinner and dancing.

Haubert said he was pleased to help the Dublin Sister City Association host the Irish dignitaries.
On Saturday, the Alameda County Firefighter’s Pancake Breakfast served up flapjacks and fun before the parade and festival. Despite the time change and bad weather, runners and walkers pounded the pavement early Sunday morning for the Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk.
