The women and children who come to Shepherd’s Gate are seeking to start a new life. They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. Grainbakers Baking School

Grainbakers offers one-of-a-kind whole-grain breadmaking classes and soft pretzel-making workshops. We are honored to be in a guest residency at Pans on Fire, the beloved Pleasanton cooking school. We are also well known for wholesome staff team builders hosted right at your office. Spent grain and brewer's barley are healthy whole grains recycled from the brewing process. Our 90-minute workshops are hosted at some of the country's best breweries, and they often sell out fast. Classes blend fun, relaxation, and the pride of saying "I made that." Whether you are brand new to breadmaking or a seasoned sourdough pro craving a fresh twist, you are welcome here. We especially love showing homebrewers how to transform that beautiful spent grain and brewer's barley into something extraordinary. Every workshop pairs you with friendly Teaching Assistants who guide you through mixing, shaping, and prepping your dough. You leave with oven-ready dough to bake fresh at home, plus recipes and tips to keep the magic going in your own kitchen. The aromas, the laughter, and the brewery atmosphere all add up to a night you will remember. This is a fun night out that is also an affordable night out. Most cooking classes are very expensive, and many paint-and-sip or craft classes burn through supplies, create a pile of trash, and still come with a hefty price tag. Dublin Little League Jamboree is this Sunday, April 24th from 9-4pm at Fallon Sports Park. This is the day all little league players in Dublin take their pictures, participate in the Hit-A-Thon, and have BBQ with their teammates. Kent Moddelmog, Dublin Little League president, will be presiding over the grill and cooking up BBQ for everyone. The intermittent rain has caused a few game cancellations, but this has not put a damper on the season which is just beginning! So, if you hear cheers coming from our baseball diamonds during the week, it's probably us...cheering for the home team!
