Dublin Middle School Hosts Swing Dance Competition
This was the first year the students danced their hearts out in swing skirts and socked feet. WATCH.
Students at Fallon Middle School in Dublin took part in their first annual swing dance competition last week. Teacher Emerson Salonga said the program was modeled after the popular swing dance program at Hart Middle School in Pleasanton.
According to Salonga, the Dublin seventh and eight graders learn basic swing dance techniques during their physical education class at the beginning of the years.

“Over three days, during lunch time, students spun, twisted, and danced their hearts out for their peers, parents, and Fallon teachers,” Salonga told Patch. “The swing dance unit has given our students at Fallon a positive way to interact with each other and have a blast while doing it. As a department, we were able to see students who may not excel in other areas of our curriculum, exceed all expectations in the swing dance unit. Our hope is that this confidence will be carried with them through out the year in all areas of curriculum at Fallon.”
