Dublin Police Help Recover Over $1 Million In Stolen Retail Goods

Dublin police and other law enforcement organizations arrested 3 suspects accused of stealing merchandise from a Dublin beauty store.

DUBLIN, CA – Dublin police arrested three suspects accused of possessing an assault rifle and stealing over $1 million in stolen merchandise Wednesday.

Dublin police responded to reports of grand theft at Ulta Beauty on Dublin Boulevard on Wednesday at about 4:28 p.m., the department said in a news release. About $1500 worth of merchandise had been stolen. Police learned that there was a tracking device located in one of the items, and eventually tracked the suspect vehicle to an address in Oakland.

Dublin police arrived at the location and assisted CHP Organized Retail Crime detectives, who were reportedly investigating the same location for potential reselling of stolen goods to third parties.

Dublin police joined forces with CHP, CHP ORC, and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit and Transit Units to obtain a search warrant. Police say that during the operation, an aviation unit saw a suspect fleeing into a nearby residence and concealing what was later found to be a loaded, short-barreled AR-15 assault rifle with ammunition, along with a loaded handgun.

Authorities detained two adult men and one adult woman. They were able to recover the stolen merchandise from Ulta Beauty Store, and reportedly over $1 million worth of additional stolen retail items.
