Dublin Police, Sheriff's Office Mourn Death Of Nancy Melanson
Sheriff's technician Nancy Melanson began her law enforcement career in 1997 and transferred to Dublin Police Services in 2005.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin law enforcement lost a friend and colleague this week.
Nancy Melanson, a sheriff's technician with Dublin Police Services, passed away Wednesday at the age of 54 following a cancer battle.
Melanson joined the Alameda County Sheriff's Office in 1997 as a technician and was assigned to Santa Rita Jail.

She transferred to Dublin Police Services in 2005, where she spent the next 13 years working as a community service officer.
"Nancy loved working in the city of Dublin and excelled at being part of the community. Her life is a great example of what it means to be a dedicated, loyal and hard working professional. Our agency will be a little less bright without Nancy. She is gone way too soon but will always be with us," the Alameda County Sheriff's Office shared on Facebook.

Dublin Police Services also shared, "We will miss her terribly."
In 2011, Melanson was honored by the Rotary Club of Dublin for her "hard work, openness and dedication to excellence." In a statement announcing the honor, the city said, "Nancy always goes the extra mile to ensure that everything she is involved with is completed thoroughly and she does it with an outstanding attitude. Her work ethic and dedication to excellence positively impacts everyone around her."
Melanson is survived by her husband, Glen, and two children, Laura and Christopher.
