From the City of Dublin: The City of Dublin will soon begin offering performing arts events at the Dublin High School Center for Performing Arts and Education (8151 Village Parkway, Dublin). The first performance, “Journey of the Silk Road,” will be presented on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. “Journey of the Silk Road” features internationally-acclaimed performer and dance ethnologist Farima Berenji and multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Gold.

Joined by members of the Simorgh Dance Collective and Caravan El Noor, the event will feature folkloric, classical, and sacred music and dance, showcasing the vibrant cultures of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikstan, Persia, and Turkey. Tickets are $15 and are available online, or can be purchased at the door on the night of the performance.

Through an ongoing agreement with the Dublin Unified School District, the City will be hosting a series of arts events at Dublin High School’s theater. “We are very excited to be able to bring this performance to Dublin, and look forward to announcing other shows soon,” said Cultural Arts and Heritage Manager Tegan McLane.
