We asked Patch Readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic issues and crosswalk safety:

  • "Burglars"
  • "School traffic safety. No busses means lots of kids on bikes and in crosswalks. We need a school bus system and crossing guards!"
  • "Unnecessary road work by the Safeway in Dublin! What the heck are they doing on the road by Target and Safeway?"
  • "I second school traffic safety. Pretty much a huge mess at every site. None of these schools were designed for their current student capacities. Mix in some careless/rushed parents, and you have a huge mess."
  • "Crosswalks. People getting run over trying to cross the street. Cars turning while people still in crosswalk. It not only Dublin it everywhere."
  • "Traffic is out of control. Crosswalks don't cut it. Developers should be paying to build safe pathways that go over or under the highways within the city (Dublin Blvd., Dougherty, San Ramon Blvd.)"
  • Probably all the unnecessary developments and condos that keep showing up. Also, the lack of local businesses in our community is sad. Also, that rumor of losing Los Pericos almost made me have a heart attack lucky it was just a rumor. But yeah it's a shame to see what our city is turning into thanks to all these developments."
