DUBLIN, CA — Dublin teen Rabia Badar received an Unsung Hero Award from California Assemblymember Alex Lee for her community service work.

Badar raised $4,200 for the Alameda County Food Bank, which translates to over 10,000 meals for the food insecure. She also founded a group called Junior Civitans, and asked members of the group how they would like to give back to the community.

The group has volunteered at senior homes, provided meal and supplies for the unhoused, blankets to refugees, cleaned up beaches and parks, and raised money for women facing domestic abuse.
