Bay Area BBQ Championship: A Benefit for Foster Youth

The Oakland A’s, the International Barbecue Cookers Association, the CA BBQ Association and the Oakland Chamber of Commerce are teaming up with Alternative Family Services (AFS)for the Bay Area BBQ Championship (BABC). www.bayareabbq.org

This benefit for foster children and families will be held July 16, 2011 in the Coliseum parking lot prior to the A’s double header against the Los Angeles Angels. All event and food/beverage tasting tickets must be purchased in advance. Ticket packages include: BABC access, FIVE tasting tickets and A's double header ticket. All proceeds benefit the thousands of foster children, youth and families served by AFS.

Join Joey Altman, Liam Mayclem, Narsai David, Jan Newberry and other celebrities at the BABC. Celebrity, VIP and Certified Judges  determine which of the thirty-two Pitmasters will be the BABC Grand Champion.

A live stage show includes a live food demo, entertainment, a live BBQ Throwdown and the presenting of the Children's Guardian Award to Senator John Burton for his commitment to CA foster youth.

Corporate tables, sponsorships and volunteer opportunities are available, including the opportunity to put together your own competing team. We are also trying to get 1,000 $18 A’s tickets sponsored so the foster youth and families may attend the A’s game.
