'Feed Tri-Valley' Kicks Off Monday

EAST BAY, CA – Feed Tri-Valley, a food drive aimed at ending hunger in the Tri-Valley region, begins Monday, July 10, and runs through Sunday, July 23, with collection barrels set up around Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore to accept gift cards and food supplies.

“Last year was our first year to focus attention on hunger in our own community,” said Pleasanton
Recreation Supervisor Nicole Thomas. “Our community donated close to 4,000 pounds of food, which was an enormous help to some families in the Tri-Valley community.”

Feed Tri-Valley was launched as a way to help local residents struggling with poverty and food insecurity, particularly in the summer months. For donors who prefer an alternative way of giving, grocery store gift cards are also accepted.

• Canned soup
• Canned beans
• Pasta Sauces (enchilada sauce, spaghetti sauce)
• Salad Dressing
• Individually wrapped granola bars
• 4 oz juice boxes
• Coffee (especially decaf)
• Tea bags (decaf)
• Sugar
• Flour
• Cooking oil

Most collection sites will have barrels with Feed Tri-Valley banners on them, and certain sites will accept grocery store cards.
