First Ambitious Year-Round Youth Orchestra in Tri-Valley

The need for the youth orchestra serving educational and artistic purposes was finally addressed by international level musicians

Pianist and conductor Temirzhan Yerzhanov (Artistic Director) and violinist and conductor Imant Kotsinsh (Music Director) are leaders of the project Orchestra Gradus ad Parnassum (which means a “step to perfection”), fiscally sponsored by non-profit corporation SocialGood, is at the full rehearsal stage and gears up for becoming a major music educational entity in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Inaugural Concert led by Maestro Kotsinsh will be held on Sunday, November 22, 3PM at the brand new Dublin High School Center for the Performing Arts & Education, 8151 Village Parkway, Dublin, CA 94568. The program will feature young violinists Eric Wang, Bryan Sun, Anne Plescia, Alexandra Zhu in a rare Vivaldi’s Concerto for four violins; Bay Area’s favourite mezzo-soprano Anna Yelizarova in Schubert and Bizet; as well as works of Albinoni, Weber, Brahms and Svendsen.

Latvian-American conductor Imant Kotsinsh is a prominent artist in his native country and abroad. His talent and experience brought him a recognition that propelled him to several resident conductor positions with such orchestras and companies as The Bolshoi Theater, Monterey Symphony and Symphony of New Russia. Mr Kotsinsh had many guest appearances with Moscow Philharmonic, The National Latvian Symphony, Gyunggi Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Perm Tchaikovsky Opera, Chişinău National Opera, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, Latvian Opera and more than two dozens of other orchestras and companies. As a Music Director he led such orchestras as Daugavpils Symphony, Yaroslavl Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.
