Five Guys Burgers Will Open Soon

If you're craving a Five Guys burger and fries you won't have to wait much longer. The restaurant is expected to open next month in Hacienda Crossings. 

"We're hoping to open about the second week of April," said Chief Operating Officer Jose Garzona.

Garzona also owns the Five Guys restaurant in Fremont, which is currently the nearest location for Tri-Valley residents.

Interviews are now taking place in order to staff up to 60 positions at the new restaurant. Garzona hopes to have everyone hired by the end of next week.

"We received about 200 applications for these jobs," he said. "But we really love giving young folks a job."

The burger joint will move into the location formally occupied by . 

As to why Hacienda Crossings was selected, Garzona said it's because it's "really a premiere shopping center."

He added that because the center also includes a movie theater and is really a community shopping center, Five Guys would be a good fit.

The new casual restaurant isn't just for meat lovers. Patrons can opt for a veggie sandwich or grilled cheese sandwiches, both suitable for lacto-vegetarians.

Five Guys won't be the only new addition to the list of restaurants at Hacienda Crossings. In December, it was  had signed a lease for the former Fuzio's site to open his restaurant Johnny Garlic's.
