Former American Idol contestant Maddy Hudson plans to perform at Vito’s Express Pizza in Grafton Station on Sunday to help raise funds for 19-year-old Camille Chabot of Dublin.
Hudson, 16, is a Foothill High student who recently competed and had an amazing run on American Idol. Hudson is well-known around Pleasanton as a popular street performer who gives Main Street a little musical style on the weekends. In 2014, Patch interviewed Hudson after she belted out “Radioactive” for locals downtown on a Saturday morning. On that day, Hudson, who has been singing since she was 6 years old, was working to earn money for college down the line.

Chabot, a former Dublin Young Citizen of the Year, has been publicly battling stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma since last year. The event on Sunday marks the end of Chabot’s months of grueling chemotherapy.

Some truly amazing things have happened during the course of her treatment. Recently, Chabot was lucky enough to run into Bethany Mota, one of her favorite YouTube stars, while shopping at the local mall in Pleasanton and snap a photo with her.
President Obama and more than few Oakland A’s baseball players were spotted wearing the #CamilleStrong hashtag on shirts and scarves during 2015 spring training in Arizona.
Last week, Rooms of Hope visited the Chabot household and redecorated three bedrooms for Chabot and her two younger sisters. Chabot spends days in her bed recovering from her chemo treatments.
Even more incredible, is that at the halfway mark of her chemotherapy, Chabot was determined to be 90 percent cancer-free.

Vito’s Express Pizza is located at 4060 Grafton Street in Dublin. The fundraiser will be from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Vito’s is generously hosting this all day event, for dine in or carry out orders and donating 30 percent of all sales (including alcohol) to the CamilleStrong Foundation. Can’t make the event?
