Get Crafty at the Dougherty Elementary Craft Fair on December 9

Children from Dougherty Elementary School will be using their creative flair and enthusiasm to produce something handmade for the annual Holiday Craft Fair taking place on Friday, December 9 from 5-7pm.

The Parent Faculty Club, PFC, is coordinating nonprofit fundraising events to support the activities of this National Blue Ribbon and State of California Gold Ribbon school and provide experiences that enhance student life and foster a love of learning.

Dougherty Elementary students will express their talents by making items such as scarves, jewelry, purses, home decor, hats, sweaters, festive decorations and any item that will be in line with the Holiday theme.

This is an excellent opportunity to encourage the entrepreneurial skills of students while giving them an understanding of what it takes to manufacture and market their products.

Last year’s fair was a huge success and both students and parents thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“It brings out creativity and a spirit of entrepreneurship in children plus it's a great way to bring the community together,” says Samriti Singh, PFC President.
