Guide To Dublin High School Homecoming 2019: Go Gaels!
Campus homecoming activities have been ongoing all week, but the excitement really gets started Friday.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin High School students will be dismissed from class early Friday to ready for a big homecoming weekend.
Campus homecoming activities have been ongoing all week, but the excitement really gets started Friday with the DHS Homecoming Parade at 3:30 p.m. The event is for the whole community, and there are temporary road closures scheduled:
Northbound Village Parkway from Amador Valley Boulevard to Davona Drive will be closed at 3 p.m. to traffic. Drivers will be rerouted until approximately 5 p.m., according to the city. Dublin Police Services will be providing traffic assistance.
Parade attendees are advised to access the DHS campus from Brighton Drive, off Amador Valley Boulevard, and are encouraged to arrive early. Alternative options for getting to the parade are Tamarack Drive east of Village Parkway (near Frederiksen Elementary School) or west of Village Parkway on Brighton Drive (near Kolb Park), according to the city.
After the parade, from 4-7 p.m. at the DHS baseball field, a homecoming carnival will get underway. Carnival admission is $5; children under 3 are free. All carnival games are free to play. Payment is required only for items sold by DHS student clubs.

Friday night will cap off with football, as the Gaels take on Granada. The junior varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m., and varsity kickoff is 7 p.m. The homecoming court will be presented during varsity halftime and that's when the new senior queen will be crowned. The winning class of homecoming 2019 will also be named.
The homecoming football games will be the first played on the new field at Gaels Stadium. The field was finished late last week and teams had their first practice on the new surface Monday. The track contractor is taking a break to accommodate homecoming activity but will finish up next week.

Renovations go beyond the stadium's track and field. There were upgrades to the sound system, the scoreboard is getting retrofitted, long jump pits on both sides of the stadium have been added (to accommodate more reps in practice and increase efficiency during events like the Dublin Distance Fiesta), two shot put areas and a discus area will be added just north of the stadium along with some additional improvements. All upgrades were funded by Measure C. More information about stadium renovations can be found here.
Events wrap up Saturday with the homecoming dance, from 7-10 p.m. in the Sports Complex. This year's theme is Under the Night Sky. During the dance there will be arcade games, photo booths, a silent disco and other fun stuff!
