IKEA To Demolish Vacant Structure
IKEA hosted a community open house on April 7 to discuss the latest changes to its development proposal in Dublin.
DUBLIN, CA — A vacant structure on the property owned by IKEA will be knocked down this week, the company said. Demolition on the property located on Hacienda Drive and Interstate 580 started Tuesday.
"No other construction activity will take place," the company said in a release. "Residents can view latest site plan and renderings for the proposed IKEA store and retail center on the project website."
The company did not say what prompted the decision to remove the structure.

IKEA says the new proposal will create 1,142 jobs and almost 10 percent increase in Dublin's sale tax revenue, $350,000 in annual property tax revenue to the Dublin Unified School District and $14 million in one-time development impact fees.
