Inmate Found Dead In Santa Rita Jail Committed Suicide: ACSO
The sheriff's office said medical staff from the jail and paramedics responded to the inmate's cell and began life-saving measures.

DUBLIN, CA — An inmate at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin was found dead in his cell Sunday afternoon, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's office. Deputies found the 37-year-old man unresponsive in his cell at the jail located at 5325 Broder Blvd. The inmate was alone in the cell at the time, officials said.
According to the sheriff's office, medical staff from the jail and Alameda County Fire-Paramedics responded to the inmate's cell and immediately began life-saving measures to no avail. The inmate was pronounced dead.
Detectives from the Eden Township Substation responded to the scene, in accordance with the Alameda County in custody death protocol. The sheriff's office said after an investigation, it appeared that the inmate took his own life. The name of the inmate is being withheld at this time pending notification of the family. The coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
