DUBLIN, CA — The city of Dublin inaugurated Phase 1 of its newest park, the 12-acre Iron Horse Nature Park and Open Space.

The community gathered Saturday to cut a ribbon for the new park, which runs parallel to the Iron Horse Park and connects Amador Valley Boulevard to Stagecoach Park via a former railroad. The new park includes:

  • Informative signs with posts made from the original railroad tracks that run through the area
  • A bike repair station near the entrance on Amador Valley Boulevard
  • A bench dedicated to community volunteer and cycling advocate Bob Powers
  • A new multi-use path
  • Seating areas
  • Shade Structures

While Phase 1 is complete, much more is coming. See here for more information about the park, which will include a new path, benches, a bike repair station, an arch culvert bridge, fencing, native landscaping, and wetland mitigation plantings.
