A diagnosis of cancer proves to be one of the most trying times in one’s life. I remember the fear and anxiety of my own family when my mother was diagnosed with cancer, and it my distinct privilege to help guide you and your family through this difficult time. I strive to provide the very best of care to you, just as I would want for my own family and friends.
I was attracted to radiation oncology by the fascinating combination of patient care, advanced technology, cancer biology, and physics. I joined Kaiser Permanente because I believe in our mission to provide excellent clinical care in an integrated care model, and for the opportunity to help grow our cancer care services for our members in the East Bay.

I grew up in a small town in rural Northern Ohio. After completing my undergraduate studies in Ohio, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where I attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. I then headed to Boston, Massachusetts with my wife, where I completed my internship in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I subsequently completed my residency in radiation oncology at the Harvard Radiation Oncology program, a training program shared between the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Boston Children’s Hospital. During my final year of training, I served as Chief Resident.
After spending many years in the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast, my wife and I are excited to call the Bay Area home. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife, hiking, cooking (and eating!), watching sports, and traveling.
In addition to the Opening Ceremonies and Survivor walk, there are activities throughout the day, with booths and a kids activity area, including face painting and giant bubbles.
In the evening will be the Luminaria Ceremony with lighted Luminaria surrounding the entire track, each one decorated in memory of a loved one lost to cancer or in honor of a survivor in their battle against cancer. To order a luminaria bag, go to www.RelayForLife.org/TriValleyCa
