Monika Sharma, owner, is a Dublin resident who has taught for nearly 15 years. She's had experience with American, Canadian and Indian education systems, and has two kids, she said.
"Teaching has always been my passion," Sharna said.
Sharna wanted to give back to the Tri-Valley. As a mom, she's spoken to a lot of young people and sees that they deal with a lot of stress and anxiety, even if nobody is pressuring them, she said.
Sharna wants to create a place where kids can focus on their strengths.
"I think they need a place where they can learn things, they can do things, it's not the kind of environment where people are telling them what they don't know," she said. "If you can enhance (their best qualities), they will do very good in their life."
Best in Class emphasizes problem-solving and reading. Sharna said she plans to create a book club where kids can pick their own books, and discuss them and write about them.
Best in Class had its soft opening in January and is accepting registrations. Sharna said she is promoting Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
