Celebrating 25 years: Kuk Sool Won of Dublin CA Martial Arts School

August officially marks 25 years of teaching by Master Seyd Saidi at the Kuk Sool Won of Dublin, martial arts school in California.

The celebration highlighted the long-standing commitment to the traditional Korean martial arts system and the mission of the Chief Instructor and owner Master Seyd Saidi to train practitioners in a family friendly environment. The occasion was marked at the quarterly Promotion Day held at the school, where students obtain new belts after testing, reflected the achievement of this significant milestone.

The school’s uplifting contribution to the progress and support of students has been the cornerstone of its success and has had a significant impact on the surrounding community. The school was established by Master Saidi who has been training in martial arts for over 35 years. Over this period he has developed numerous teaching methods and techniques designed to aid students of all ages become accomplished martial artists.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary a special preview of a documentary about Master Saidi highlighting some of his family background, personal experiences and martial arts expertise was shown in public for the first time. Since the school was initially established in San Lorenzo and then relocated to its current premises in Dublin, retrospective footage from the Grand Opening was included. Photographs of his family and students in training at the dojang also elicited appreciative responses and the viewing audience erupted with spontaneous applause at the documentary’s conclusion.

Despite his superb track record Master Saidi remains humble and unassuming attributing the success of the school to the hard work and commitment of his students and their families.

“I really appreciate every one of my students. My school has always been a family oriented school because every one of my students is like a family member to me. I am really happy and honored to have the opportunity to teach an art that I am passionate about” said Master Saidi.
