Man Kills Himself Inside Dublin Gun Range: DPS

Dublin police said they found a 35-year-old man dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff range.

DUBLIN, CA — A 35-year-old man took his own life inside a Dublin shooting range Tuesday, Dublin Police Services said.

Police were called to the Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff gun shop and shooting range at 6705 Amador Plaza Road at around 5:09 p.m. Tuesday to ascertain the welfare of a possibly suicidal person, DPS Captain Gurvinder Gosal said in a news release.

Officers found a man inside one of the shooting lanes with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead on scene.

Police identified the man as a 35-year-old from Bay Point, but did not provide his name. Officers said they did not see evidence of foul play or suspicious circumstances based on on-scene evidence and an ongoing investigation.

A representative from the store declined to comment. The store, which also has a location in Vacaville, rents guns for $12 and customers 21 or older who present a valid ID. Children 12 and older must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
