Max has volunteered in numerous community service activities such as Dublin’s St. Patrick’s and Splatter Festivals, Tri-Valley’s Scouting for Food, and the annual Scout’s Christmas tree pickup program. Outside of scouting he volunteered for projects as a Lead Petty Officer, with the US Naval Sea Cadets CW Park’s Battalion, where he marched in the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and Pleasanton Veterans Day Parade as part of their honor guard.

For his Eagle service project, Max completed a Veterans Service History project that archived the service records and accomplishment of a dozen US veterans who served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf War. He led a team of scouts and adults who interviewed and recorded the veteran’s accomplishments from their service years. The results were compiled and accepted by the US Library of Congress and memorialized into the Veterans Service History records at the Library of Congress and National Archive.
