New Dublin HomeGoods Store Donates $5,000 to Rooms of Hope

The money will be used to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.

Persimmon Place has a sweet new store for home furnishings and accessories. HomeGoods opened last month with a Grand Opening ceremony and customers lined-up for a chance to be the first to snap up treasures.

Mayor David Haubert participated in the ribbon cutting, along with HomeGoods officials and staff from around California and beyond. HomeGoods used the occasion to present a check for $5,000 to Rooms of Hope, a local charity that remodels the bedrooms of children who are seriously ill.

“Behind every nonprofit organization, there is a for-profit company who cares enough to support their community and the projects that matter in that community,” said Shelley Ham, Executive Director of Rooms of Hope. “Rooms of Hope is one of these nonprofits and with the support of HomeGoods, our program is strengthened and our seriously ill Rooms of Hope children are the ones who benefit. Thank you HomeGoods for choosing our charity to partner with and for your amazing generosity! Our sincere gratitude is with you and we wish you all the success in your new HomeGoods Dublin location.”

Store Manager Daisy Ocanas says the donation for Rooms of Hope is heartfelt, “It feels good to know that we all together as a community can do our little parts to make a big impact or difference in others lives. I wish you (Rooms of Hope) the best thanks again!”

Persimmon Place is located at Dublin Boulevard and Hacienda Drive. Other stores in the new shopping center either open or under construction include Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack and several restaurants.
