Outstanding High School Awards Show Now Airing

You can catch the program on TV30 this month.

High school athletes and a coach from the Tri-Valley were recently honored for their efforts this past school year.

TV30’s fifth Annual Outstanding High School Athletic Awards event took place on Thursday, May 28, at the Robert Livermore Community Center.

Fifty-six high school athletes from Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton were honored for their accomplishments.

For the first time, TV30 presented the “Tri-Valley Sports Final Outstanding High School Coach of the Year Award.” The recipient, Bennie Lafever, coached wrestling and football in the Tri-Valley for 35 years. The winning coach was chosen from nominations submitted by TV30 viewers on the stations website.

The event’s keynote speaker was former Raider tight-end Tony Stewart, who now works in the NFL’s front office.

The Athletes of the Week featured on TV30’s weekly sports program “Tri-Valley Sports Final” and their families attended, along with the mayors of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton, Congressman Eric Swalwell, Assemblywoman Catharine Baker and Supervisor Scott Haggerty.

The awrds program is now airing on TV30 and is also available via video-on-demand on the station’s website.
