(Patch) What appealed to you about the Dublin location to open a Johnny Garlic's?
(Fieri) I wanted to open more restaurants in NoCal and I'm often down in the Oakland area for games and concerts. I'm pretty familiar with the area and I knew it'd be great for our next Johnny Garlic's. The location is off the hook.
(Patch) What can customers expect in regard to the atmosphere and menu?
(Fieri) This location will be very similar to the other JG's. It's going to have an open kitchen, lots of energy, and tons my own recipes and creations, including some from new new cookbook, Guy Fieri Food (Harper Collins, May). The restaurant is really centrally located near movie theatres and shopping areas and we have tons of parking.
(Patch) Any menu items you're especially excited about to share with our readers?
(Fieri) I would have to say "Hunter's Creation," which is also available at my other restaurants. It's named after my son, Hunter, and is a monthly rotation of exotic game, from wild boar to buffalo.
(Patch) Will Dublin fans get to see you hanging out at the restaurant from time to time?
(Fieri) Oh yeah, I will be there. In fact, this week I was at my restaurant hosting charity events and I plan to be at the new location whenever possible. It's my restaurant, so it's my turf.
(Patch) What are you most excited about with the opening of this new restaurant?
(Fieri) I’m definitely excited to be expanding the Johnny Garlic's brand and I love that I'm keeping the restaurants in NoCal, where they are close to me. This way, I'm able to be really hands on, but I've also brought in key players to help run the place. It's gonna be a great addition to my other Johnny Garlic's locations.
