The Pleasanton Civic Arts Commission is meeting Monday 8/31/15 at 7PM to vote on the proposed Veterans Memorial for the Pioneer Cemetery. The Pleasanton Veterans Community, along with other members of the community have responded to the Master Plan for the historic Pioneer Cemetery with a Veteran’s Memorial to honor those who have served our country in the services and have been laid to rest there. There are about 540 veterans buried there, who have served in every major conflict as far back as the Civil War. Their goal is to provide a place to be able to go and reflect and remember those who have served our country. They have been working hard on this for about a year.
Here is a link to a video describing the project. Link to Video
Monday night the Civic Arts Commission will be giving their thumbs up or down to this project. Please make every attempt to attend this meeting to show the City your support for those who have served and to give your thumbs up to this Memorial.
