Pleasanton, Dublin Shift Into High Gear For 'Bike To Work Day'
The cities of Dublin and Pleasanton went all in for Bike to Work Day.
DUBLIN, CA — Towns across the nation are celebrating Bike to Work Day, but the cities of Dublin and Pleasanton took it to a higher gear. May 17 marks the official national date, but our local cities were celebrating on Thursday when more than 400 cyclists visited two “energizer stations” set up at both the Dublin and Pleasanton BART stations.
City staffers from Dublin and Pleasanton, as well as representatives from Hacienda, Bike East Bay, Veeva, REI Dublin, and Dublin Cyclery hosted the stations that offered cyclists refreshments, t-shirts and swag bags. Technicians from Dublin Cyclery and REI also provided bike tune-ups, while Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty, Dublin Vice Mayor Melissa Hernandez, and Dublin Councilmember Jean Josey were on hand to greet cyclists.
It didn't end there. Cyclists were encouraged to join up for happy hour at World of Beer in Dublin and McKay's in Pleasanton. Let's face it, all that cycling worked up a thirst!
