Quarry Lane School Breaks Ground and Unveils Plans for New Building

Construction is underway for new science, engineering and technology laboratories, new cafeterias and a student store at Quarry Lane School.

Construction has begun for Quarry Lane School’s new building addition. At approximately 14,000 square feet, the new facility—which will be located at the school’s Jr. Kindergarten – 12th Grade Dublin campus adjacent to the Admissions Office—will house science, engineering, and technology laboratories, two cafeteria areas, a lecture hall, and a student store.

Expected for completion prior to the 2015-2016 school year, the facility will be a two-story structure and serve as a hub providing amenities, enriched learning opportunities, and an expanded area for applied research for the students and faculty. The first floor will feature two cafeterias—one for the Lower School students (Jr. Kindergarten - 5th grade) and one for the Upper School (6th - 12th grades), as well as a lecture hall. Engineering, science, and technology laboratories, along with a student store will make up the second floor.

This expansion marks a milestone and expands upon Quarry Lane’s vision to provide a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art learning experience for its students. The new cafeteria areas and lecture hall will also provide an engaging area to enhance the everyday life of students and faculty.

“I think this new building will further propel Quarry Lane as a top education institution for young minds,” said Dr. Sabri Arac, Headmaster of Quarry Lane School. “In addition to providing an engaging, functional structure for the school, it will further support our applied research, operating like a research college.”

Traffic is expected to be minimally affected by the construction and access to the adjacent buildings and offices will continue as normal.
