Quarry Lane School Students Shine at DECA State Conference

A Quarry Lane student was named California's DECA State President and six students will advance to compete in the International Conference.

After a successful showing at the district-level competition, the Quarry Lane School DECA team had an incredibly exciting few days at the recent DECA State Conference held in Anaheim, California on March 7th through 10th.

Out of over 2,500 competitors, six Quarry Lane team members placed in the Top 10 of their categories and are invited to send their intent to advance to the International Career Development Conference. One especially exciting highlight from the event was the announcement of current QLS DECA Vice President, Diya Jain (grade 11), being elected as the California DECA State President. This is an immense honor for Diya and for Quarry Lane. She has been chosen to represent the 6,000 CA DECA members as the California State President.

Among the top QLS DECA honors are: 4th place for Corina Chen (grade 12) - Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling; 7th place for Muskaan Agrawal (grade 12) - Business Finance Series; 9th place for Diya Jain (grade 11) QuickServ Restaurant Management Series; 5th place for Ridhima Motewar (grade 11) Retail Merchandising Series; and 1st place for Srinitha Sridharan (grade 11) and Tiffany Liu (grade 11) - Marketing Management Team Decision-Making.

The team looks forward to preparing for the International Conference which will also be held in Anaheim this coming April.
