Quarry Lane School math instructor, Dr. Thuy Pham, has been named a recipient of The University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator Award, an award given to educators across the nation for excellence in teaching and mentorship.
For more than 30 years, the university has invited incoming students to nominate an educator who has inspired, challenged and made a difference in their lives. And every year, over a third of the students take the opportunity to nominate an educator. University of Chicago freshman and recent QLS alumnus, Srihari N. nominated Dr. Pham for the distinguished award.
"We receive letters back from hundreds of students, inspired by teachers who have changed the course of their lives, who taught them to re-imagine texts, to delve deeper into problem-solving, and to think beyond the borders of the classroom in the pursuit of their own education," said James G. Nondorf, Vice President for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at The University of Chicago.
