DUBLIN, CA — Dublin's One City, One Book program kicked off this month and features "Flora & Ulysses" by Kate DiCamillo. All Dublin schools are participating, thanks to donations from local families and businesses, the city said.

Frederiksen Elementary School Catherine Brown founded the "One School, One Book" program for members of the entire school community, from parents to students. She suggested making the program a citywide event.

Anyone wishing to participate can follow along with the calendar to ensure they're keeping pace with the rest of the city.

The city will also debut the Books in the Park program, in which city leaders will hide their favorite picture book in a park, the city said. Families are encouraged to take their kids to hunt for the books, read them aloud together, sign the book, place it back in the bag and hide in near the same location.
