Resident Likes Gabi Blackman For School Board: Letter To Editor
Bobby Khullar says the community needs a candidate who will "restore accountability back to the DUSD."

Dear Editor:
I wrote a letter in support of Gabi Blackman for the Dublin School Board in 2016. She ran a general at large district election and garnered over 7,000 votes. Since then, two of the trustees that were elected (Joe Giannini and Dan Cunningham) have resigned, and we are now voting by assigned Districts.
It is important for me to support the most qualified candidate in the June 4th election. We need Trustees that will put our existing residents first and who have the business acumen to challenge these arrangements.

A summary of the key missteps throughout the years under this current School Board
would be the following:
- Under the guidance of the current School Board President, the Trustees appointed Dr. Boozer and then consequently fired her.
- An assistant Superintendent was fired and now is possibly suing the DUSD for slander.
- The current DUSD President releasing private information to the public, causing ACOE to issue an ethical breach letter.
- Unhappy teachers that were on the brink of a strike.
- Over 120 comments made at a DUSD meeting showing ZERO confidence in its leadership.
- A nightmare situation at Cottonwood.
- This school board, including Gabi’s opponent (who served as a provisional appointee for weeks prior to being ousted after citizens demanded a vote) voted to expand Dublin High School to over 4,000, directly undermining the need for a second High School.
- No land for the 2 nd High School.
- And lastly, angry parents all throughout the District.
We need restore accountability back to the DUSD. We need Trustees who understand
the complexities of school facilities, construction, and who will effectively challenge
District employees to significantly reduce costs. We need Trustees who recognize the
extent of our problems, and who will be straight with us even when it is hard to hear. Do
your homework and vote for candidates with the right experience to make the critical
decisions necessary for our kids and our finances.

Gabrielle Blackman is that candidate. As Trustee, she will deliver on the promises made
to the community; solve growth issues by strategically aligning fiscal resources to OUR
prioritized needs. She will also support innovative curriculum to advance college and
career readiness.
She is a Cornell University graduate and a registered architect (NY) with expertise in
school planning and facility design. She will bring a new perspective, one that delivers
innovative ideas. She will collaborate with, yet challenge, fellow board members and
district staff to meet the needs of educating students in the 21st century. Most
importantly, as a Dublin resident of 13 years and parent of 3 children, she is 100%
vested in the outcome.
Please vote for Gabrielle "Gabi" Blackman for DUSD Board of Trustees this June.
