Sports Authority on Schedule For Fall Opening

Residents looking for another location to purchase sporting goods won't have to wait much longer. Sports Authority is on schedule to open sometime before Thanksgiving, according to Linda Smith-Maurer, Dublin's economic development director.

Construction is well under way at the former Mervyns Department Store building at 7117 Regional St. Apparent changes have been made to the exterior of the building in the past weeks. 

Sports Authority sells fitness apparel, footwear and team sports gear. The company is headquartered in Englewood, CO, and operates more than 450 stores in 45 states.

The lease was executed for approximately 45,000 square feet of the former Mervyns building. There is no word yet on what will occupy the remaining space in the building.
